As many of you may know, Amelia Tircuit is part of our school, church, and daycare family. Amelia attends the Child Development Center, and her two big brothers, Landon and Jaxson attend SCA. Amelia has recently been diagnosed with A.L.L. leukemia and is being treated for the next couple of months at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. As you can imagine, this is an extremely difficult time for the Tircuit family.
We are asking all of our school families to please pray for complete healing for Amelia and for provision and grace for Brad and Elaina as they care for her and the rest of their family during this time.

Parents,
We will be closed Thursday, November 22nd for Thanksgiving, as well as Friday, November 25th. Livingston Parish and Southland Christian Academy are closed the entire week of November 19th. Tumble Time Fun and Fitness offers your child a complete fitness program. Classes are offered to two year old’s through four year old’s. Our lessons combine developmental and motor sensory skills with games and music to make exercise and learning fun. Our goal is to give each child a great start in life by teaching them life skills such as self confidence, coordination, and a love for physical fitness. Children need to experience success at both mental and physical activities. Gymnastics is one sport that can be taught as soon as a child can walk. In each Tumble Time lesson we will challenge and motivate your child. Our program allows each child to succeed at his or her level and lay a foundation for future activities. We are on-site the first 3 Wednesday’s of the month (September – May). Tuition is only $18 per month! You may order your child a Tumble Time t-shirt, or get one free by paying all 9 months in advance. If your child is not already enrolled, please see the ladies in the office so that we can get them involved in all the fun!
Ms. Sam

Dear Parents,
Because your pre-school realizes the value of teaching children foreign languages at a young age they have chosen to offer a Music Lingua Spanish program for their students. There will be a calendar posted of the days we will be having class. I will send home a note each week that we have class that has what we learned, it may include vocabulary or even a fun song.
What is Music Lingua?
Music Lingua is a program which uses music, movement, drama, art, and storytelling to teach children foreign languages. We draw from the Natural Approach to language acquisition, among other teaching philosophies. We teach foreign languages in the same way we learned our mother tongue: by hearing the language and it’s new and different sounds, and responding to commands first physically, then verbally.
Advantages of learning a second language early
A child’s brain comes hard-wired for language. Millions of connections are waiting to be made in their brain, and multiple languages are very easy to pick up at this time. By the age of 6-8 yrs., this window of opportunity begins to close, and it’s much harder to learn a second language. Children who learn foreign languages tend to have a better grasp of their mother tongue, do better in math, and have better problem solving and analytical skills. The benefits are great, but the optimal time for learning is short. That’s why Music Lingua teaches children from ages 0-8 years old to plant the ability at a young age, so they can benefit from it their whole life.
You can learn more about the Music Lingua program and the fascinating research done on early second language acquisition by visiting our website at www.musiclingua.com. If you have any questions about the program please contact me, Amy Lobo at 225-667-2527 or at amy_lobo@att.net.
Looking forward to teach Spanish to your child this year!
Mrs. Amy Lobo
